Matt Handy

Matt Handy is an award-winning director, writer, and producer based in Los Angeles, California. Hailing from Toronto, Canada, he worked as a financial software engineer and entrepreneur, until he decided to change lanes and act on his lifelong passion for filmmaking. Accepted to the American Film Institute, he graduated with an MFA in directing, his thesis film winning a Student Emmy. Since, then, his short films have been featured at numerous festivals, winning many awards. Recently, Matt co-wrote and co-produced “Where Are You?” starring Sir Anthony Hopkins and shot by Academy Award Nominee Dante Spinotti. Additionally, he wrote, produced, and directed “Out of Time,” a science-fiction action film with over 4.5 million views on Amazon Prime. Matt loves telling stories grounded in hope and redemption, frequently weaving in elements from his technology background and his ten years as a volunteer Police Officer in Canada.
