Submit your best 10-12-minute short film screenplay, genre & topic of your choosing,
and show us why you belong in our lab. While this is an opportunity for Women of Color, the scripts should not be, necessarily, about Women of Color. This is a blank canvas for you to showcase your creativity and unique voice. So we encourage you to explore freely, and not be
hindered by any sense of expectation. Six (6) talented women of color will be selected to participate in the week-long lab, and one winner will be selected to have her short film produced.

<p>Richard Kletter taught screenwriting to grad students at USC&rsquo;s School of Cinematic Arts for a decade.&nbsp; After graduate school in Communications Policy at Stanford and consulting work for major foundations, NGOs and corporations, he turned to Hollywood and has written, directed and/or produced nearly twenty films and TV movies, including &ldquo;Never Cry Wolf,&rdquo; and &ldquo;Odd Girl Out.&rdquo;&nbsp; He&rsquo;s worked for nearly every major studio and network.&nbsp; His work has been nominated for a Golden Globe and his short film, &ldquo;Teach 109,&rdquo; based on an idea by Isaac Asimov, won a Cine Golden Eagle and was chosen to represent the U.S. in festivals and cultural exchanges around the world.&nbsp; He has run web content and mobile software companies and co-holds two mobile software patents.&nbsp; He consults on&nbsp;story&nbsp;and character development both internationally and domestically for game and software companies, and for writers, directors and producers.&nbsp;</p>

<p>Sandy Climan is a Golden Globe and British Academy Award winning producer of Martin Scorsese&rsquo;s The Aviator. He previously served as part of the senior management at CAA for 12 years, representing talent including Robert De Niro, Robert Redford, Kevin Costner, Danny DeVito, and director Michael Mann. He also founded CAA&rsquo;s corporate practice, working with global companies including Sony Corporation on its acquisition of Columbia Pictures, Matsushita Electric on its acquisition of MCA/Universal, Credit Lyonnais on its restructuring of MGM, Coca-Cola, NYNEX, Bell Atlantic and other Fortune 500 Companies.</p>

I am of the opinion my screenplay,"Rosewood The Early Years" could challenge "Gone With The Wind" for more than ten Academy Awards. I specifically joined Open Screenplay to get some pointers on writing a screenplay not slog through a dozen sections of information. My screenplay does not fall within the normal parameters of a regulation screenplay, yet it has all the elements described in Mr. Wolk's Webinar last Sunday. I learn quick but I also have very little patience with people who continue to think inside the box. My screenplay is different in that it has No nudity, No sex, No vampirism, No guts and gore. Can any other movie today match that claim? I have a little patience but dealing with people who think inside a box drains it quick. At that point, I move on to greener pastures.

Mr. Bash, this being my first rodeo, ( screenplay), I should be entitled to a few mistakes in the learning process. I read the "Red Flag" post and yes, my screenplay does have a few. I am a retired aerospace engineer and have a few books, novels, novellas and poetry anthologies in my portfolio. In my screenplay, I do tend to add lengthy descriptions along with good dialogue. Reason being, I do not want any mistake made or assumed in the moment of the mood. True, the director is in charge but I am like a damn good number two guy. As I mentioned earlier, my screenplay has no nudity, no sex, no guts and gone or vampirism. What it does have however, is a chance for the actors to act, using my screenplay they will definitely earn their pay. There is no real acting involved in jumping into bed every five minutes, chopping off heads every second and being reborn every century or so until someone sticks a wooden peg into your heart. Working for Honeywell for all those years, I learned to have a healthy disrespect for people who can't think outside the box. Same principle involved here. I love movies and I'll wager, after watching the first five or ten minutes of virtually any movie, I can tell you how it is going to end. That is how "programmed" today's movies are .If you can guess the ending, what fun is there to continue to watch? So how do we get past this one hurdle? The ball is in your court.

 <p>It&rsquo;s too hard to find the right therapist because the system is not designed around the needs of the individual seeking support. There&rsquo;s a current gap between wanting to get mental health support, and finding the provider that is right for you. We wanted to bridge that gap through a personalized, warm and reliable service that engages people and empowers them to start their healing and growth journey.</p>

Michael Hyon Johnson is a half black, half South Korean writer and director who has produced award winning narrative short films, music videos, and branded content. Born in Camp Pendleton, San Diego; Michael comes from a family of veterans and enlisted into the Air Force following the September 11th attacks. Michael's work is heavily influenced by his experiences growing up rebelling in a small conservative city in Colorado and his disillusionment from his time in the military.​

I am a Palestinian-American independent filmmaker and composer. I have made several short films of several genres over the past few years, and written several unproduced pilots and feature films. I am also a composer and musician of ten years. I have lived in multiple countries throughout my life and credit my experience as an immigrant for who I am today. I will combine my love for entertainment and my diverse background to aid me in my craft as I explore all genres of film and music.

While he began screenwriting and directing at age 16, Khaled ventured into entrepreneurship where he founded successful for-profit social enterprises in renewable energy, real estate, tech, and media.
